Many of our alumni have made it to the top ranks of the United States Air Force.  Every one of them started with training and mentorship from the cadre at Detachment 380.

 

GENERAL DONALD G. COOK

General

General Cook entered the Air Force in 1969 through the ROTC program at Michigan State University. He completed Undergraduate Pilot Training at Williams AFB, Ariz. The General has commanded a flying training wing, two space wings and the 20th Air Force.

LT. GEN RONALD F. SAMS

General
General Sams was commissioned a second lieutenant in 1972 through the ROTC program at Michigan State University and earned his wings at Vance Air Force Base, Okla. He has served as an aircraft commander, instructor pilot and flight examiner, and has flown many models of 135-series aircraft.

LT. GEN JUDITH A FEDDER

General
General Fedder is a 1980 distinguished graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at Michigan State University. A career maintainer, she has served as officer in charge of numerous aircraft maintenance units and as Chief of Logistics Management at the Combined Joint Task Force Headquarters for Operations Proven Force and Provide Comfort at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.

MAJ GEN MARK S SOLO

General
General Solo was commissioned in 1978 after being named a distinguished graduate in the ROTC program at Michigan State University. Following graduation, he served in a variety of operational assignments as a C-141 pilot. While serving as a C-141B chief pilot in the 8th Military Airlift Squadron, General Solo commanded 26 combat support sorties during Operation Desert Storm.

BRIG GEN CHAD T. MANSKE

General

General Manske was commissioned in 1989 following his graduation from Michigan State University, and has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels. Additionally, he has deployed in support of ongoing operations in Central and Southwest Asia as an air expeditionary group commander, the Deputy Director and Director of the U.S. Central Command’s Deployment and Distribution Operations Center and as an air expeditionary wing commander for operations Odyssey Dawn and Unified Protector.
